David Hoe is a product designer and prototyper focused on AI-assisted game creation: making games easier to build without sacrificing visual identity, deliberate gameplay, or human creative judgment. At AI Engineer Europe 2026, he represented Meta, where he worked on generative-AI game-creation experiences.
Hoe studied at Imperial College London, investigating computer-vision hand tracking and interactive desk surfaces, before developing experience in technical direction and software delivery. His subsequent prototyping work applies that interest in human-computer interaction to playable worlds shaped by generative tools.
At AI Engineer Europe, Hoe and fellow Meta speaker Danielle An replaced conventional slides with an audience-controlled game whose nonplayer characters advanced the presentation. Hoe explained key-art anchoring: using a single concept image to establish an aesthetic direction for generated assets and suggest gameplay appropriate to the same fictional world.
Their interactive demonstration also incorporated rapid playtesting, multiplayer experiments, and language-model-driven nonplayer characters. Hoe’s specific emphasis was creative cohesion across generated assets: ensuring that faster production still yields games with recognizable artistic direction and coherent design.
