Kitze

Kristijan Ristovski, known professionally as Kitze, is the founder of Sizzy, a browser designed for web developers, and the creator of Benji, a personal operating system combining tasks, habits, calendars, and planning. His products and experiments explore a demanding question: how much work can software automate while preserving human judgment, context, and control?

Raised in Macedonia, Kitze worked with PHP, WordPress, and frontend development before building products around problems he encountered himself. In 2017, he introduced Sizzy to show responsive websites across multiple device previews simultaneously. He subsequently rebuilt the open-source project as a paid Electron-based browser, an experience that shaped his skepticism about confusing GitHub popularity with a sustainable business.

He founded React Academy to teach practical frontend development and created open-source developer tools including react-hanger, react-genie, mobx-router, and JSUI. His later projects include Glink, a changelog and roadmap product, and Zero To Shipped, a web-and-mobile starter kit bundling authentication, shared backend infrastructure, billing, and deployment.

Benji grew from experiments with text-file task lists, Android automation, contextual reminders, and voice-controlled workflows. Kitze began building it in 2022, pursuing an interface that could coordinate everyday responsibilities without scattering them across separate applications. He later explored voice-driven API calls that update tasks and calendars directly, although the Benji AI assistant remained unreleased.

  • Vibe engineering with human oversight. Kitze draws a sharp line between blindly accepting generated code and supervising coding agents with architectural knowledge, relevant context, and continuous review. His approach to AI-assisted software development uses spoken feedback, visible code inspection, and rapid iteration while guarding against production-data mistakes. Agentic coding also helped him revisit Benji, Glink, and Sizzy, including moving Benji toward a Next.js, React Native, tRPC, and monorepo architecture.
  • Useful repetition over premature abstraction. Because coding agents readily produce and maintain repetitive code, he questions whether elegant abstractions actually improve the product. His standard is practical: generated code should remain understandable enough for people and agents to continue working, with deeper optimization reserved for genuine needs.
  • Personal agents with explicit boundaries. Experiments with OpenClaw pushed Kitze toward self-hosted files, inspectable agent data, specialized assistants, and explicit permissions. They also exposed unreliable scheduled jobs, weak context retention, and the limitations of managing complex personal workflows through Discord or Telegram.
  • Inherited context instead of opaque memory. His experimental Wolfer interface organizes conversations into nested topics whose descriptions flow into each child workspace. An agent handling Benji customer support, for example, receives relevant project and support context directly; visible tool calls, configurable capabilities, and structured workspaces make its behavior easier to inspect.

Kitze also founded Tinkerer Club, a community for builders experimenting with personal software and agents. His vision for the future of applications centers on task-oriented personal computing: assistants assemble context, invoke tools, generate interfaces when necessary, and surface decisions for humans, while specialized applications remain useful where dedicated controls matter.
