Chelcie Taylor

Conference affiliation: Notable Capital · 2025

Chelcie Taylor is a principal at Notable Capital, investing in AI-driven enterprise software and industry-specific applications. She focuses on how emerging capabilities become defensible products integrated into healthcare, financial services, small-business operations, and other specialized workflows.

Before entering venture capital, Taylor worked in strategy and operating roles at Google, CBS, and MediaLink. She studied political science at Princeton University and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School. Her investments include Arteria.ai, Electric, Heard, Homebase, Plenful, Realm, Slice, Stream, Vic.ai, and Wispr.

In 2024, Taylor and Notable managing partner Jeff Richards helped launch the SMBTech 50, spotlighting technology companies serving small businesses. Their analysis of small-business technology emphasizes integrated software and business models whose success depends on measurable customer outcomes.

What distinguishes her investment approach

  • Vertical voice agents: Taylor argues that industry-specific voice products can build advantages around recurring call patterns, specialized workflows, staffing constraints, and attributable revenue. Even as speech models improve, voice platforms remain defensible through compliance, integrations, analytics, human handoffs, reliability, and orchestration across multiple models.
  • Voice-first computing: Taylor and Hans Tung backed Wispr Flow, which combines speech recognition, language models, contextual information, and user edits to support writing across existing applications.
  • Healthcare workflow automation: Her investment in Plenful targets pharmacy and healthcare administrative processes, including audits and prior authorization. She emphasizes founder Joy Liu’s firsthand understanding of the operational problems those products address.

At AI Engineer World’s Fair 2025, Taylor explained that pre-seed investors can back founders before revenue or a finished product when they articulate a differentiated market insight, credible customer hypothesis, and compelling team. She advises founders to validate assumptions through customer interviews, acknowledge competitors directly, and approach investors with specific, relevant outreach.

Taylor also serves on the board of the annual AllRaise Conference, supports BLCK VC, and received the National Venture Capital Association’s Rising Star Award in 2024.
