AI developer tools and coding-agent infrastructure

Warp

Warp builds tools for developers and engineering teams to write software with AI agents and automate development workflows. Warp Terminal combines shell commands with agent conversations and code review, while Warp Agent CLI brings its coding agent to any terminal. Warp Factories, introduced in closed beta in 2026, lets organizations define cloud agent workflows as code, from issue triage through implementation and verification. Teams can choose models and agent harnesses, retain human checkpoints, and use evaluations and benchmarks to measure cost and quality.

Founded in 2020 by Zach Lloyd, its CEO and a former principal engineer for Google Sheets and the Google Docs suite, Warp began by redesigning the terminal. Its Rust UI framework and GPU-backed renderer support a typed block architecture: commands, outputs and agent interactions appear together as structured content. This lets developers navigate individual commands and review agent reasoning, tool calls and diffs within the same session. Warp made its core product open-source in 2026.

In August 2026, the company reported 718,000 active developers and 179,000 agents running daily on its homepage. Warp serves both individual and enterprise paying customers, with collaboration and AI features underpinning its business model. Its backers include Sequoia Capital and GV.
