Chime

Chime offers consumer banking, payments, lending and investing products through an app where members can get paid, spend, save and build credit. Its borrowing options include MyPay advances and Instant Loans. Chime Invest adds commission-free stock and ETF purchases and managed portfolios with no account minimums, with investment advisory services provided by Atomic Invest. Chime is a financial technology company; banking services are provided by The Bancorp Bank or Stride Bank.

Founded in 2012 by Chris Britt and Ryan King, Chime remains led by Britt as CEO. King has overseen its product and technology organizations. The company completed its migration to ChimeCore, its proprietary technology stack, in 2025. Chime Card was the first product built entirely on that platform, which supports transaction processing and product development. Chime became publicly traded through its 2025 IPO and trades as Nasdaq: CHYM.

The company reported 10.4 million Active Members at the end of June 2026, defined by a member-initiated money movement transaction during that month. Its payments business earns revenue from interchange fees tied to purchases with Chime-branded cards. Alongside its direct consumer channel, Chime Enterprise distributes its offering through employers and channel partners, including Allied Universal.
