Browser infrastructure and AI automation

Browserbase

Browserbase provides cloud browsers and automation tools that let developers and AI agents interact with websites without managing a browser fleet. Teams use the platform to retrieve documents, monitor prices and automate web workflows. Stagehand, its open-source SDK, combines code and natural-language browser control; Director turns plain-English requests into executable automation scripts for nontechnical users. Browserbase Agents provides a managed alternative: users describe a goal and invoke a hosted agent through an API, receiving structured results and execution recordings. Search and Fetch supply web context when a full browser session is unnecessary.

Founded in 2024 by CEO Paul Klein IV, Browserbase grew out of his experience operating headless browsers at Mux. Its engineering work places browser automation logic close to the pages it controls. Stagehand moves target management, frame tracking and Chrome DevTools Protocol dispatch into a browser extension, allowing the SDK to query browser state directly instead of relying on a remote copy. That shared core supports TypeScript, Python and Go SDKs with feature parity.

In June 2026, the company reported more than 35 million browser sessions per month, with teams including Ramp, Shopify and Lovable using its infrastructure. Browserbase announced a $40 million Series B led by Notable Capital in 2025, with participation from CRV and Kleiner Perkins.
